Exclusive Presentation Album by Art Leather

This versatile presentation album was made by Art Leather in New York, whose slogan was “The World’s Finest Albums and Folios”. That may be a bit of American marketing hype, but there is no doubt that this is a very stylish and well made album.

The black cover is slightly padded and is made of a grained leather-like material, with 2 gold lines around the edges. Other than those, the cover is plain, making this album suitable for displaying a wide range of subject matter – weddings, portraits, pet photos, still lifes or product photos etc. The 10 slip-in leaves each have a single gold line around the aperture, and the album can hold up to twenty 5″x5″ prints. Prints simply slide into place, with no adhesives required – making it very simple to change individual prints (or all of them) at a later date without damaging the album in any way.

As Art Leather went out of business quite some time ago (so much for being the “world’s finest”!), this is a rare opportunity to acquire one of their albums brand new. It has never been used in any way, and comes complete with its matching black presentation box measuring just under 8″x7″.

This quality presentation album costs only £20.00 (postage extra if required). It is for sale in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

Please contact me if you are interested in this album, or require any further information about it.

See here for details of the thank you cards and CD/DVD folio that I also have for sale at discounted prices.

I have some surplus stocks of A4 size Epson Premium Photo Paper for sale at great prices. The packs of 20 sheets are available in both Glossy and Semigloss surfaces, and are all new and unopened.

Thanks to their heavier weight (the Glossy weighs 255g/m2, and the Semigloss 251 g/m2), these papers have the look and feel of traditional resin coated photographic paper, and they are able to produce rich and vibrant colours.

The Glossy paper costs only £12.00 per pack (6 packs available).

Lowepro Flipside 400AW Photo Backpack For Sale

This large capacity camera backpack has had only very light indoors use, and is in excellent condition. It weighs only 3.5lbs, and the internal dimensions are 10.6″ x 5.9″ x 16.7″.

It is for sale for only £65 (or £75.00 including postage within the UK), and can be inspected before purchase at my premises in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

The Flipside 400AW is particularly suited to outdoor photographers  who need to carry big lenses or a larger amount of camera gear. I normally carry a full frame Nikon dslr with 6 lenses (including a 70-200mm zoom, and 300mm f4 telephoto), plus filters, batteries and other accessories. The bag can also easily hold my 200-500mm zoom lens with one or two camera bodies and extra lenses.

Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing, or require any further information.

One of the great features of the Flipside 400AW is that entry to the main equipment compartment is from the rear of the bag next to the photographer’s body – meaning that it can’t be opened while the backpack is being worn. This ensures all the valuable photographic equipment it contains is protected against theft while remaining easily accessible. It also means that when the bag is laid on the ground, the straps and waistband are facing upwards and kept out of mud etc. Continue reading Lowepro Flipside 400AW Photo Backpack For Sale

Fitzalan Square, Sheffield 1983 – Limited Edition Print

This is a traditional black and white photographic print which I am selling as part of a limited edition of only 50 copies. It shows the old telephone boxes next to the Post Office in Fitzalan Square in Sheffield on a murky day in October 1983, with Hyde Park Flats in the distance.

This is a completely traditional (analogue) photographic print. It was shot on 35mm Ilford Pan F black and white film, which I processed myself. It was then hand-printed by me on Agfa Record Rapid fibre-based paper for archival permanence. The print has a natural warm tone from the chloro-bromide paper, which I feel suits the subject matter.

Each print measures 16″x12″ including borders (the actual image area is approx. 15½”x11″), and each one is signed and numbered by myself.

Copies cost £75.00 each (including postage within the UK). Please contact me to order a copy.

Nikon 80-200mm f4 AIS Zoom Lens For Sale

Nikon has always had a reputation for making some of, if not the finest, zoom lenses in the 70/80 – 200mm range. This lens is no exception. It was the ultimate manual focus lens of this type, and is of the “push/pull” design – featuring a single ring for both zooming and focussing.

Nikon’s manual focus AIS lenses were renowned for being close to mechanical perfection, and both the zooming and focussing movements of this lens are silky smooth (one of the reasons why these lenses are valued so highly by videographers). This lens is also razor-sharp optically, and can be used not only on all the Nikon film cameras, but also many modern F mount digital slrs. The following Nikon DSLRs provide rangefinder-assisted manual focus, matrix exposure metering, and correct metadata once you have set the maximum aperture of the lens in the camera’s menus: D200, D300 series, D500, D600/D610, D700, D750, D780, D800/D810/D850 series, D7000/D7100/D7200, D1 series, D2 series, D3 series, D4 series, D5 and D6.

The diaphragm mechanism in this lens is working perfectly, and the optics are in absolutely mint condition – with no marks or scratches, fungus or even dust visible inside the lens at all. Cosmetically, there are some small marks on the lens barrel in one place, but otherwise, the lens is in excellent condition.

I have owned this lens from new (purchase price £800 in 1992!), and it comes with its original box, Nikon warranty card and manual. I am also including a Hoya 62mm UV filter (the lens has always been protected by a filter), and a metal Nikon HN-23 screw-in lens hood -which currently costs £65 new.

This lens is for sale at £300.00.

It is in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, and inspection of the lens in person is highly recommended. I am also willing to ship it anywhere (subject to extra carriage charges).

Please contact me for further details.

Vulcans at Newark Air Museum

October 2015 saw the end of a chapter in aviation history with the last flights by an Avro Vulcan bomber. As part of a “farewell to flight” nationwide tour, Vulcan B2 XH558 flew over Newark Air Museum (the former RAF Winthorpe) in Nottinghamshire for the last time. The museum has their own Vulcan B2 (XM594) which was the penultimate B.2 variant to be built at Avro’s Chadderton and Woodford factories which was capable of carrying the Blue Steel nuclear stand-off missile (Britain’s main airborne nuclear weapon at that time). She was delivered to the Royal Air Force in July 1963 and allocated to No.27 Squadron at Scampton – the Squadron which first introduced the B.2 variant of the Vulcan to RAF service. She remained in service for 20 years, and her last flight was on the 7th of February 1983, when she was flown from her home base at RAF Waddington to the Newark Air Museum site – the only jet engined aircraft to have ever landed at RAF Winthorpe.

XM594 is now one of only 18 Vulcans left in the world, and in beautiful sunshine XH558 flew right over it on her second pass to the delight of the onlookers.

The Last Two Lancasters Flying Together Over Derwent Dam

A unique historic event took place on Sunday 21st of September 2014, when the only two airworthy Lancaster bombers in the world flew together over Derwent Dam in the Peak District. Thousands of people turned out to see the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s “Thumper III” and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum’s “Vera” fly together over the dams where 617 Squadron practised 71 years earlier for the famous Dambusters raid.

This is a composite image from the day showing both Lancasters. It is available (without the watermark, of course) as a borderless 16″x12″ print which has been printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Paper (guaranteed against fading).

Prints cost £40.00 each (including postage within the UK).
